養貓注意事項

* 初次養貓注意事項

眼睛：烔烔有神的眼睛是健康的要件，要注意是否有眼屎，充血或第三眼臉突出……等現象。

鼻子：觀察是否乾淨，溼潤，若有打噴嚏或出現鼻膿時，要特別注意。

耳朵：觀察耳道內是否乾淨，無臭味，耳殼外緣是否有搔養的抓痕。

口腔：注意牙齒生長情形，有無口臭，口水過為，潰瘍……等現象，健康貓咪的牙齦為粉紅色。

皮膚毛色：皮膚有無彈性及毛髮有無光澤，可做為健康指標，應檢查有無外傷或結痂，皮膚跳蚤等皮膚問題。背部脊椎若過於明顯突出，則表示動物太過消瘦。

肚子：幼貓的肚子一般會稍微膨脹，若過於消瘦或膨大，可能有腸內寄生蟲感染。抱牠時若有疼痛反應，或有硬塊感時，要加以注意。

四肢：檢查有無外傷，或皮膚問題，觀察跑、跳時步法是否正常。

肛門及生殖器周圍：健康時肛門應是緊縮且乾淨的。若有紅腫潰爛，可能是經常下痢的表現。尿尿應是清潔而不濁，不應有血尿或膿尿。

活力及食慾：健康貓咪應是活潑，精力旺盛，且食慾很好的。

短毛貓個性較活潑，愛撒嬌，且獨佔性較強但較聲較大(尤其是暹羅貓)。因此最好先衡量貓咪，以免造成自己及鄰居的困擾。

* 貓的身體特性

眼：
貓的瞳孔可以依光線強弱來調節大小，再把適量的光線傳至視神經。因此在強光處理，貓的瞳孔會縮成直線，在夜晚瞳孔便會全開，以接收任何光線。
雖然貓有近視，視力只有人類的十分之一，但牠的聽覺異常靈敏，任何風吹草動都逃不過牠的聽力是天生的狩獵高手。

耳：
人類的耳朵可以接收2萬赫茲的音頻，而貓卻可接收5萬賀茲的頻率，甚至可以聽見比人類所能接收的聲音高8度的音調，所以這就是貓咪聽到女性的聲音比男性聲更有反應原因。
貓的耳朵肌肉相當發達，可以呈180轉動，因此可聽到來自四面八方的聲音，且內耳的前庭，半規管功能相當發達，因此貓的平衡感相當的。即使從高處摔下，也能保持平衡而安全著地。

舌：
貓的舌頭表面非常粗糙，舌面上倒鉤狀的突起物一直延至喉嚨深處，在進食時，可把骨頭上的肉屑刮下，將食物順利送入嘴內。也可取代梳子，有效地把毛髮上的污垢刷落。
雖然貓的舌頭功能相當發達，但味覺卻不敏銳，貓選擇食物時是以嗅覺來判斷的。

鼻：
貓鼻的嗅覺非常敏銳，健康的貓、鼻子會經常保持溼潤，鼻頭可測量溫度，貓咪進食前，會先用鼻子嗅聞食物，確定其氣味及溫度後才會安心進食，此外，貓舌和嘴巴，也都具有嗅覺功能，若你發現貓突然張開口時，或許牠正利用舌頭感覺空氣中的氣味呢！！

鬍鬚：
貓的鬍鬚正確來說應該"觸毛"，不只生長在嘴唇二側，連眼睛上方及下顎部分都有，將這些部分連成一圓圈，是貓用來探測可否順利通過某一狹窄地方的工具，只要空間大於臉部鬍鬚構成的圓圈，就可以順利通過讓空間，因此最好不要任意修剪貓的鬍鬚。

爪子：
貓前肢有5爪，後肢有4爪，平常都隱藏在腳掌的肉墊中。尖銳而彎曲的爪子狩獵及打架的重要武器，當遭遇危險時也可發揮攀爬的功能。有些貓咪的行為學家認為家貓的磨爪行為有助於需疏解貓咪的潛在壓力。

尾巴：
貓尾巴的功能很多，並非只是單純的裝飾品而已，它是平衡身體的重要器官，可幫助貓平穩地在高聳而狹窄的高牆上行走，至於一些沒有尾巴的品種，後腿就很發達，以取代尾巴的功能。
另外，尾巴也是貓表達情緒的重要部份，當牠豎起尾巴並靠近你時，表示對你友好，但當牠的尾巴迅速地左右擺動時，表示牠受到警嚇或忿怒。

奔跑及跳躍力
貓的運動神經相當發達，尤其擅長短距離的奔跑，其速度可達時速50公里，但卻無法像狗一樣進行長距離的奔跑。
貓可以跳上比自己身體高5倍的高度，換算成人類的身高，就如同一個160公分高的人，可以一躍而上到8公尺的高處，因此貓在狩獵或避敵時，都會選擇高處較伏勢的位置。

柔軟度
貓的腹部比胸部還長，且脊椎關節可彎曲自如更另人驚訝的是，人類或其他動物的內臟通常都固定在體內，而貓的腹膜內的臟器卻可自由移動，因此貓的高柔軟度的身驅，可以做出很多高難度的動作。

年齡
貓出生後約2週即能步行，1歲左右的貓就可算是發育成熟，可以進行交配，因此貓的幼年期相當短暫，1歲的貓約相當於人類的15歲左右，2歲的貓則相當於人類25歲之後每年相當於人類長了5歲，貓到8~10歲左右，開始老化平均壽命約12~15歲左右，但由於現代獸醫學的發達及貓食的均衡配方，貓的壽命也有逐漸延長的趨勢。在英國有一隻貓甚至活到了31歲，直到前些日子才安祥地與也長辭。

* 成貓所需營養

貓所需的營養包括脂肪，蛋白質；礦物質，維生素A、D、E、B1、B2、B6、磷、鉀、鈣....等，尤其貓為肉食性動物，所需的蛋白質為人類需求量的5倍，而且若是缺少一種稱為氨基乙酸(又稱牛磺胺)的胺基酸，更會導致貓咪失明。

　　健康的貓可在體內自行合成維生素C，因此不須像人一樣食用蔬菜或水果，但　要特別注意的是食物中鈣與磷的比例。肉類中磷的含量通常比鈣高出好幾倍，而貓所需的鈣與磷的理想比例為1：0.8，因此若貓的飲食以肉食為主，則鈣的攝取量將會嚴重不足，而易造成貓的食因性泌尿道症候群，所以選擇貓飼料時，鈣磷比例是必須考量的重點，水份的攝取對貓也相當重要的，雖然貓的飲水量不多，但每日仍需替貓準備乾淨的飲水。

* 實驗貓照顧及貓舍管理

每週固定餵化毛膏一次(拌在罐頭內)

在貓房內禁止人員飲、食、抽煙。工作時需穿實驗衣、戴手套，以免被抓傷。
